About Joe Jeffrey and WorkZoneITSBlog

I own Road-Tech Safety Services. We started 12 years ago to pursue work in work zone ITS. It has taken far longer than I ever would have guessed but is finally beginning to pay off. I started in the industry 20 years ago with a manufacturer of portable changeable message signs. We saw the potential then of networking these signs and automatically updating the messages as conditions changed downstream.

Road-Tech has installed and maintained full blown automated work zone information systems, queue warning systems, fog warning systems, curve warning signs, intersection warning signs, and more. We work in California, Oregon and Nevada. We do very little manufacturing ourselves. Instead we act more as a local field integrator. We take the lead on design, installation, training and maintenance. We leave the rest to several very good manufacturers.

I have many friends in the industry who share my passion for this technology. We always enjoy our conversations during meetings and trade shows. I thought that by creating a place where we can talk any time, we might build on our early successes and move things along a little faster.

I hope you will join me. Please click on the “Follow Me” button and join in. It will be much better with you as part of our group.

  1. Joe – I just wanted to take a minute to thank you for continuing to promote the work we’re doing under the Smarter Work Zone Every Day Counts initiative. I know you have a far reach, so your positive comments about our webinars and other activities are a huge help.
